Great Yarmouth beach is located close to the Norfolk, Suffolk border on East Anglia’s East coast. The main A47 from Norwich runs right through the town. From the South, the A143 Bury St Edmunds will take you to the heart of the town. The beach is very well sign posted from which ever direction you approach. Enter this postcode into your sat nav NR39 1ED, this will take you to the central part of the beach on North Drive.

There is no shortage of parking at Great Yarmouth Beach, all operate a chargeable pay and display system with short and long stay options. Euston Road car park is on North Drive (NR30 1ED) and recommended if you wish to park away from the main amusement area. Anchor Garden car park (NR30 2EJ) is close to Britannia Pier on Marine Parade, this in the heart of the action. At the far end you’ll find Pleasure Beach car park (NR30 3EH) ideal for the fun fair and beach. Safe to say, even in high season you’ll find somewhere to park, right on the beach.

Toilet facilities at Great Yarmouth beach are plentiful and what you would expect from a large seaside resort. There are a number dotted along the seafront, one very close to Britannia Pier, another near the Sea Life centre and in just about every cafe on the promenade.

Dogs are very welcome at Great Yarmouth beach however as you would expect, there are just a few restrictions during the summer months. General guidance is, the central beach between Wellington Pier and Britannia Pier has restrictions for dogs between 1st May and 30th September and is well sign posted. You can of course walk your pooch all along the promenade. We recommend the North beach, this to the left of Britannia Pier, this has no restrictions all year round. There you’ll find grassy sand dunes and plenty of open space for your pup to scamper about.

Great Yarmouth beach is a haven for families and very child friendly, with wide expanses of golden sands that remain untouched by the sea even at high tide. Full of activities for the kids and with the promenade running alongside with it’s range of shops, cafe’s and ice-cream vendors makes the ideal place for the family. Ramps down to the beach are available at several locations and lifeguards are in operation between April and September which is very reassuring. If you do fancy a dip in the sea, the waters at Great Yarmouth are rated excellent.
